One finger of red sky over Ross Island, otherwise complete cloud cover, rain overnight, showers in the forecast, clearing for tomorrow, then rain on Sunday. Total calm, temp 11C, to rise a few degrees before dropping back once again.

Cool and damp last evening, second time had the wood stove in commence. Once fire going needed to open windows for some relief from the heat, at least the house was no longer damp.

Rockweed guys still at it, one just headed for the wharf, good no chop, loaded with only a few inches out of the water. At least one boat sunk this summer, no one injured, just wet, gotta wonder when you see some of the trips they make.

Dear Rob:

The house is full of love - I mean 'THEY'RE BACK'. This place is like a zoo. Murph (rent-a-dog) took off after Ted (the raccoon) and all went out to rescue, then a giant moth had to be rescued from a giant spider - OMG it's going to be a long weekend.

What is a shag?

I gotta go. Too many coming and going. Have a good one with your crew.

Word. Chunks.

Done for the week and happy for it. Dining out on Islesford on the agenda for the long weekend as the Islesford Rescue Squad sponsers a pancake breakfast tommorrow morning and the Neighborhood House presents the Harvest Dinner Sunday evening. As always there will be too much food and I will partake in most of it.

Price back down to $2.50 boat run with $3.50 for over 1.8 pounds. The jumbo price will be gone as soon as, if not before, your season opens up. Still a lot of bait swimming around here, mostly mackeral, but good bait. A fisherman from here watched a shag surface with a small lobster in its bill. It slatted the lobster around until its claws came off and then down the hatch it went. Next day as a flock of shags flew by our boats, he commented "There goes 2 crates of lobsters flying by".

Enjoy the long holiday weekend,
