A great change in the weather overnight, temp still in low teens, however fog has visibility less than 1/2 mile. Forecast is for showers and rain for the day with clearing in the offing over next couple of days.

Yesterday spent 'assisting' in the replacement of shrubs, and insuring the lawn mowed, and attempts to revive some winter kill spots. The grounds are changing, not an uncommon phenom this time of year.

Emily babysitting for the day, managed to get by without visiting Quispam with a minimum of sighing. On for the weekend, then fast break to exams and graduation festivities.

Evening David from a foggy neighbor has been raining off and on all day after a weekend of exceptional weather hopefully your Memorial Day weekend compares.

When stationed on North Dakota border would pair up with law enforcement from Across the line for boat patrols on the lake, all depended which country we were in as to who did the talking to the boaters.

Lobster catch remaining static and spotty at best, same type of weather for sure but offshore boats having same level of success.

Has been some herring earlier but don't believe any quota till June have noticed frozen pallets going by but no idea the source. We have no squid influx if we did would be another change of things going on in the Bay

Kids getting down to last few weeks of school,Emily hoping to work at Boys and Girls Club for the summer. Rob working with local trucker of rockweed harvest.

Have a good one.

Dear Rob:

I did the same as you on the weekend. It was so stinking hot though that I opted out for the hours between 12 and 2:00 p.m.

After four days of said heat it was almost possible to mow the back lawn, however, we have had torrential rain since 5:00 p.m. tonight. There was an actual river coming down my driveway. Will now need another five days to even attempt the back. Front and sides all done.

The weekend weather could not have been any better. We did a few trails and some caving at Black River. Yesterday we 'talked' (i.e. sulked) the men into taking us up river to Evandale, wherein we went to the Everleigh Riverboat Motel for supper. Sat on the deck and soaked up the sun whilst parttaking. The boys stopped pouting on their second ice cold beer. :)

You are about to get crazy when the grad events actually start happening. Good Luck. and - p.s. ... you have from now until then to figure out how to post a picture of beautiful Em in graduation gown. Just a heads up. :)

Gotta go - eaves trough is over-flowing. It seems it is rain jacket for me. Everybody else is not here. Arg.

Word. Chunks.

Gray, dismal and somewhat damp with little breeze to make a damp day really wet. Some rain at times that gets heavy and then stops for a bit. Slow improvement starting tomorrow just im time for our Memorial Day weekend.

Lobstering quite slow. We started out pretty good but that SE wind of 35-45 mph of a month ago put a halt to decent catches. It seems like we have had a roll about the shores ever since then. For an inshore fisherman that is not good fishing conditons. Some softshells (too many actually) showing up both onshore and offshore. Lots of brit around and reports of squid also. It seems that squid like brit quite a bit.
