Another nice one underway, temp near double digits at9C, wind shift to NW at 10KPH bringing the temps more inline with the date on the calander. High in low double digits, remains clear till Sunday and a gradual lower of temps with minus temps overnight. Still unusual for this time of year.

Lots of yardwork in commence with the good weather, still more observation there is work needed to be done 'before' spring gets too far along.

Kids off school today, Rob out overnight, Emily making plans for the weekend, a brief mainland trip in the offing I am told.

Dear Rob:

Ditto your weather! It is very nice out but we have an epic wind storm going on. Gusty would be the word. All the leaf racking I did was for naught due to the fact that the direction of the wind is blowing all the neighbour's leaves - which they never rack up - into my ditch AGAIN. Blarg!

Poor Otis! What a pain in the butt. How in the heck does that poor old gentleman get up in to his house if it is all jacked up? The government is so slow I will probably be over and see it myself (in August) before it is complete.

Well, I am going to try and get something done outside. Actually, it will be puttering because it is too windy. Just want to go out.

Have a great day.

Word. Chunks.

p.s. Kevin Sampson - from the kayaking outfit on Grand Manan sent me a picture of him kayaking in the Artic - ice pans all around. Sucks to have his job. The group he took out are just loving it. Kevin is their hero. To work and be a hero - awesome.

Mornin CHUNKS, indeed the temps we have had this past couple of days certainly on the high side for our summer months, unheard of this time of year.

I have Lubec on my weather spots, an Advisory posted this morning calling for Fire Watch, woods more than a little dry. The bush here never had much frost to start with, now none at all at this rate will be in a 'dry' state very quickly - go figure.

Lots of outside activity locally with people taking advantage of cleaning up the accumulation of things in the yards over the winter. I haven't been at it as yet as am still attempting to get my wood pile under control. Have access to a good lot, however has to be chunked up and loaded, should give it a sweat this weekend.

Otis still in limbo, house aloft by steel beams and pilings, hopefully can start putting things back together this next week. He is doing well, however been over a month time to get it done. Environmental issues have a life and time all to themselves.

Enjoy the weekend.
