A great sun rise now clouds taking over, a cool -9C, total calm, full tides, looks as if one could walk to the Ross Island Shore this morning. Temp to rise a bit, great conditions for the first few days of the week, sun and double digit temps on the plus side.

Emily to return to the fold by midafternoon, has had a grand time in Quispam, now time to get back to the real world, at least for a few days.

More traps going in the water yesterday, nothing frantic just a few at a time. They will soon have enough to haul when they set a few, before too long the gang is back in the water.

Dear Rob:

I am sure that you just missed Dave as he was skiing down so fast you couldn't keep him focused? All kidding aside, it is pretty unreal that you could see that far. That is amazing.

Also, it is good news that you are starting to see so much of the ducks and geese returning. I love getting those reports - can almost visualize where they are and what they look like floating around.
One of these years I am going to see the large flock of brant before they leave. I have seen the end flocks and that is impressive enough. Last week at the INP I saw a huge flock of eider. So beautiful had to stop and look.

I was going to make this huge joke about men putting anything together, but really, when we got our new one Cody and hub were out there forever. Not so much hub, but Cody could put anything together in no time and even he thought it was the job from h***. Round 2 will be better.

Everytime you say something about Em being away, etc., I can just so feel what you are feeling. When Sarah started drifting to places for weeks on end I knew that she was pretty much drifting for life. No home sickness there or here. It's not a great feeling but has to happen.

Well, gearing up for the usual Sunday hike so better get to. Have a great day.

Word. Chunks.

Mornin CHUNKS, cold wind a blowing this morning, attempting to cloud over, but still portions of open sky.
Doing the tour yesterday with mom had no problem seeing Mt. DESSERT looming from the south, appears to have snow on the peak, at least with the naked eye. Didn't see David hiking or looking over the weather.
Many signs of spring, brant in larger numbers coming up the harbour just after daylight, first time any amount, a few geese in the marsh yesterday, large numbers of eiders in Long Island Bay, any species of ducks you want to mention. These indications and double digit temps next week harken well for a positive change in the weather.
Attempting to put a new BBQ together couldn't get the fingers to work in the cold so give it up, wasn't a long conversation to come to the decision.
