The New Year attempting to decide if overcast or clear to be the order of the day. Temp at the freezing mark, blue sky here and there, however mostly overcast. This will be the order of the day for next couple of days then temp to dip and remains clear and cool for the rest of the week.

Ushered in the New Year with a grand meal and good company, managed to stay awake till 2012 showed up,then off home very early after the New Year rung in.

Rob out till 0300, no report from Emily as to how things went down in Quispam. No ferry today should find out when she plans on returning to her orginal berth.

Happy New Year to you all. Slept with the windows open last night, but the good times are departing as the wind comes up and the temps go down. The first frontal passage of 2012!

Glad are survived and enjoyed themselves. Best wishes for the New Year!

Dear Rob:

We had a very quiet one for the first time ever. All the kids going in opposite directions. We just had movies, etc., at home. Quite boring if I do say so myself. Oh well, at least feel decent today.

How come there is no ferry today? Is that the norm that it doesn't run on New Year's Day? Could keep a few people stuck one way or the other.

Well, all are starting to arrive here to go for our annual New Years Day hike. Should be amusing.

Have a great, restful day.

Word. Chunks.

p.s. Happy New Year too to Bug, David, Plug, and all our other friends. Word.

Happy New Year,
Bright and sunny with NNW breeze at no more than 15mph. Great day to start a new year in my opinion. I laid low last night as it seems I caught Cindy's Christmas cold. It was a quiet evening all over the island even for those who were unhindered by a cold.

Pickle dragging is dragging for sea cucumbers. It is a high volume/low price endeavor. The cukes get split and scrapped with a bell scrapper then dried. Most of the dried skins end up in Asia for who knows what use. There is a fellow in Stonington, ME who processes some skins there and puts the dried end product into capsules that are supposed to help with degenerating bone joints.

Good luck to all in the New Year

Happy New Year!

You did better than I did. I missed The Moment, itself. I'd nodded out in my recliner in front of the TV. I woke up about 12:15, mumbled "Happy New Year, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" and stumbled off to bed.

You and the Missus are contemplating a visit south to check out The Grand Strand? A dangerous move; you may find yourself winging your way South every winter.

I know you're not the golf fanatic your brothers are but Donna will love the shopping!

One of my uncles always hits the Bass shoe outlet when he's in the area. They don't go to the beach often but when they do, he always gets shoes. He, his wife and one of his daughters went a few months ago; all three went home with new shoes.

Here's wishing you, Donna and the rest of the family a happy, healthy and proseperous new year.
