Ain't no complaining about the heat and humidity this morning, a slight draft SSE, showers overnight, makes the 13C quite chilly. Temp to rise near 20C, light rain in the forecast for the next couple of days. A good thing as grounds very dry.

Nothing official, that I have seen, but if the ADVENTURE was on time she will now be tied up in Blacks Harbour. Rob enroute for a day in St. John so he will have a first hand look at her. Will be interesting to hear the comments.

A few wier herring, but nothing speacil, the netters had a good week starting out, then not so good past week. A few boats scalloping, no idea of how that is going.

Afternoon Rob,
Slight SE wind all day for us with a bit of roll on but pleasant in that all the fog I saw E of us didn't come our way.
My neighbor has a small fish trap (portable wier with sides and bottom all twine with floats to keep sides floating) which can be productive when the fish are around and it is in the correct location He sets it in 3-5 fathom of water along the shores of the island. All manual labor in hauling and brailing makes it a bit of a workout.
The seiners were just outside us last night along the 30 fathom curve. One of them took a foray inshore this morning on a scouting trip. I think there is too much gear inshore for them to set out. It all makes strange bedfellows-they need to set the seine to get the fish but our traps are in the way. If they set on our traps we lose the traps. Of course the fish have tails and never tell us where they will be.
Good luck with the ADVENTURE.

Afternoon David, must have been an ideal day on the water, clear with just a slight hint of SW at the moment, temp in the high teens.
Only Northumberland hull comes to mindin the local fleet, all boatyards in Novie pretty well represented. My father-in-law a founder of the local GRAND MANAN BOATS. He is now retired, started the 'boat shop' upon retirement from teaching, a young man of 63 years at the time.
Boats here got very big when lobater price in 6$ range, price of fuel not a factor, that changed big time, as a consequence difficult sledding for some of the fellows. Fuel way up, bait way up and $6 lobster still among the missing.

Dear Rob:

Ditto here - i.e. the weather. The air conditioning at work cannot, apparently, be turned off at will so we were all literally freezing to death today. We all hate the air conditioning, even on the odd hot day, so today was MAJOR COMPLAINING. When I left I sat in my car with all the windows up just so I could feel some heat on my freezing cold hands, legs, etc. Arg!

As soon as done here I am going on facebook to see the ship. It is really exciting. I can't wait to hear what L'il Rob has to say as well.

I somehow knew you would be exactly like my husband and just go with the flow, regardless of how disagreeable, regarding the shopping. He can hold out from sighing for one hour - tops - then I move it along. Mostly, I go by myself. However, different story when you live out in the middle of the ocean. Good job Rob. See, this is how marriages are sustained. Men just bite their tongues - it works. HAHA

I am sure that Em has a good cache of money ahead for her vehicle. However, it is always expensive parents way to get one. They are always short for gas, etc., however, in your case, a car would make sense at least next year so she can go to the university on her own. Good luck with that one.

Well, off to discover the Adventure. Can't wait to get on her.

Have a good one. word, chunks.

Mornin CHUNKS, have been advised that FACEBOOK is reporting the arrival of the GRAND MANAN ADVENTURE in Blacks Harbour some time during the night. Complete with photos, don't know how to access them but the good thing is she has arrived.
Did my duty and kept my mouth shut, read a little and listened to alot of the radio in the parking lots on Sunday. Made for a quick trip and not underfoot or sighing within earshot at least.
Tony suggesting a vehicle for Emily is in order, something she has already put out there, of course it will be no expense, and Donna wouldn't have to share her car. Great rationale espescially from Emily's perspective.
Have a good one.
