THURSDAY, REMEMBRANCE DAY 2010

By: GRANDMANAN , 12:28 AM GMT on November 12, 2010

Clear today, windy still, but expected to go down overnight. Clear this evening, and temp 7C, 25-30KPH from the north.

Fire overnight took out the phone lines on the southern end of the island. Fire an arson, seems one of three in the past two days. All buildings involved derelict, however with these high winds certainly jepordized other locations. The local Volunteer Fire Dept. to be commended on containing the fire to the structures involved. Am advised already has been an arrest, however not a Facebook person so cannot confirm this is the case.

Setting Day 0700 in the morning, forecast looking not too bad. Better as the day moves along, we set the first load, close to home, if the forecast is correct the weather improves as the day moves along. If indeed the case the longer trips will be in better weather. The boats have been patient, but a drive along the Bay shows folly to be out in the weather than has been going on this past week.
