Another brilliant red sun this morning, from where I am sitting just over the remnants of Ross Island Light. Absolute calm, a chilly 1C, frost heavy enough to be reflecting the red of the morning. Rain and wind tomorrow and into the weekend.

Ice making machinery arrived and unloaded yesterday. The crew immediately set to work getting the installation underway. This crew combined with the other trades makes the arena a happening spot.

Lobster bait just about done for this season, new quota in effect in a day or so. With some uncertainties of what next year might be quota wise guys are reluctant to draw down on what might be a reduced amount in 2011.

Dear Rob:

I heard that you were 40 today??? I was 40 this year too??? (lie, lie, lie) .... anywho, whatever the age hope the celebration is note-worthy. A good 10 mile hike, lobster dinner, a dram of whiskey, and some dancing would make the day eventful. Not to mention the birthday cake with the 40??? candles and half an inch of boiled icing. WHAT TIME DOES THE PARTY START/ I might be able to make it.

Just back from a beautiful ride on Greta - and again - no lame steps today. Wahoo!

The CBC radio was forecasting a major storm for Grand Manan/St. Stephen with 60 m of rain, plus Easterly at 60. You could be bailing for your apres birthday day - so watch the hangover ratio. Woot. Seriously, hope you don't get washed away. Just a small blow compared to what you are used to.

Well, silliness aside, HAPPY BIRTHDAY and talk later. The crew is arriving to be fed.

Word. Chunks.

Happy birthday bro. I wasn"t very old but I do have memories of that august and exalted day. If there is fish there is no bait,If there is bait there is no fish,if there is bait and fish there is no market."Peter the bread man".

Dick just checked back over the comments of few days and found your comeback.
Trip down through Maine would be great this week, don't imagine that the traffic would be all that tough to deal with. Off the beaten track is always more interesting with people and visuals along the way.
Kids are at the door, thanks for dropping by GO PHILLIES.
