Fog hovering over Ross Island, calm, 14C temp, looking as if rain is possible. Similar weather conditions in the offing for next couple of days.

Lots of harbour bottom visible looking at the bar is one of those occasions that appears you can walk to the Ross Island shore, full tides this week. Believe clamming closed due to high levels of toxins, certainly nobody on the beach harvesting at this time.

Rob bonding with his crew, Emily under the roof as her week to work. Didn't have to yesterday as a result spent the afternoon at the pool. The pool doing well this summer with more sun than we have had for the past season or so.

Dear Rob:

The recipe for hiking - APPLY 1/4 cup of fly dope before going anywhere, rub in until you can't stand to stand beside yourself.... woot .. and then carry on like a semi-normal person. Works every time.

Hot again today, but with a slight SW. By the time I long trotted the mare for one half hour without stopping, I don't know who was in a bigger lather? This apparently to keep circulation into the hock joint. Think Vet is smoking something funny? Anyway, it is done and had a great shower for both of us after to get cooled off.

The breeze is keeping with us so am going to attempt to mow some of the lawn. Went to garden for five seconds and was instantly bounced on by dog flies. ARG. Can't do the fly dope thingy as just had shower with mare. I can't win.

Anyway, looking forward to fog in the morning so can do run./walk.

Have a good one.

Word. Chunks.

Morning CHUNKS we still avoiding the high temps and humidity you folks have to endure. Foggy in the morning then burns off and almost ideal summer weather has been our good fortune.
Rotary Festival is always fun for sure, locals return home that weekend, and activities of all kinds over the weekend. If we are fortunate enough to have this type of weather all venues will be in full swing for sure.
Haven't heard from any hikers if the trails are the home of black flies, mosquitoes or not, but can't imagine not being the case.
Have a good one.
