A rare morning, no fog, clear, the odd cloud attempting to hide the sun, calm, temp 14C. Forecast is clear and sun for next couple of days then rain for the weekend.

Boat traffic, from observations, seems to be on a slight increase. More New Brunswick vehicles than in past years, a few New England with a number of Ontario plates in the mix.

Emily's phone calls to check in becoming almost a daily occurrence. Not much to report just wants to speak with her grandmother, the rest of us are as they say 'chopped liver'.

Rob doing baseball and pool activities, the pool cool, but not as bad as the Bay of Fundy, where he thinks nothing of spending hours with no complaint.

Oh, Chunks ~ No jealousy, please. In our case, sun means hot! and hotter. Over 100 every day - we are so heartily sick of it I would take every cloud you can find. I'm even done hoping for rain. Just a cloud will do!

Dear Rob:

I think Shoreacres is trying to cut in on Bug53's action of telling us how beautiful their weather is? Must not get jealous ......
arg! it is not working!!!!!

Actually, I am going to see the puffins with somebody on Saturday. I didn't book the trip, so am somewhat in the dark, but sure it is the person you mentioned as there aren't too many allowed to go - to my understanding. I can't wait. I hope that it does stay nice for Saturday, as the opportunity to go to Machias doesn't come to often for me. I have purchased a new camera card for the digital in order to get 'two zillion pictures' ... to quote my husband.

Well, Emily is sure to be missing you guys as well, but in the end it is always the person who passes out the discipline, etc., that gets the contacts. Shows that all our mother efforts are not really in vain - although we swear to God that they are.

Birthday party here tonight so expecting heaven knows how many, so have to get with it.

If you hear that the weather is to 'suck out loud' please advise immediately.

Bathed mare today, which she loved, and Hugo was very good and stood quietly while his mom got a shower. We love him more each day he is such a good baby.

Talk later. Chunks

Puffins! I first saw them in Alaska and fell in love with them. I still carry a keychain fob with an enameled puffin on it.

Glad to hear you have sun. So do we...and more, and more, and more....

Morning CHUNKS, appears your household down to a dull roar for the start of the week. Much the same as here, at least for yesterday.

You mention weather on the weekend, Maine Forecaster giving westerly on Saturday. If any good weather is in the offing that is the direction you want the wind from.

Haven't noticed any infulx of the 'birders' they are here in spring and fall, not that they might lurk among us on other occassions.

Peter has had a few trips to Machias Seal for puffins and the like. The weather has not been cooperating for his summer venture. A few whales around but no Right Whales as yet that I am aware of.

Mike SMITH, if you are a foodie, CHEF @ HOME/CHEF ABROAD from PEI doing a fundraiser here for the B&G CLUB last weekend of the month. Two Hundred tickets gone in a few days, should be fun, good menu we are looking forward to it.

Have a good one. ROB
