Dear Rob:

Not good news! As suspected - the boys did not conquer the 'favourites' this time. When we got to the field all I could see was the MENS rugby team, only to be told that 'no' -- that is the team our boys would be playing??? Honest to God, most were at least 250 pounds except for their runners. Anyway - I think our boys started out a bit intimatated. In the first half they obtained 3 trys on us -- worth 5 each - or 15 points, and got two converstions - 2 points each - for a total of 19. Dispite being on the goal line a number of times, our boys were not able to complete the touch.

Second half - the ref had to send two of their players off for high tackles and dirty play. Two of our boys received broken noses, maybe broken ribs (not sure yet), swearing, etc. We were not sure of this over rough behavior because they were winning? Anyway - Cody was at the bottom of the dog pile right in front of us, and their #25 cleated Cody on purpose when the ref wasn't looking. Cody had been trampled so much by then, he couldn't take it. He cleated the guy back, on purpose. The ref didn't see that but I did. Mama was not amused. So, they could not score on us in the second half, so the score remained the same. 19 - zip for them. There are very dejected boys around here tonight. I'm surprised the score wasn't 60-0 to tell the truth. Our boys surely gave it their best effort.

This game would go along with my weekend to date - last night fired a whale sculpture and when taking out of firing, burnt hand, knocked over hot sculpture and broke off one of the fins@*?! So much for a months' work. Sigh!

Oh well, tomarrow is bound to be better. Hope your boy had a better one than mine.

Happy mowing. Chunks
