The Gifts

The sun
This morning
Burnished trees.

The cold morning
Iced ponds,
Crystallized floating leaves.

The blue sky,
An autumn canvas,
Art in the hawk's flight.

i haven't seen any low overflights of the snow
geese yet, but it won't be long, i bet. they
graze/tear-up the farm fields here in flocks
with 10,000 or more members. you can hear them
from miles away! did have a couple of eagles
getting first dibs on a young deer's carcass a
week ago, too. this area is like a live-in

working on boats, still?

glad you enjoyed the post.

So beautiful! We've had some "cold" weather, but no freezing yet. At this point, I'm needing some decent weather to get some work done. I had two beautiful weeks for my trip, but I sort of was counting on good weather to work in when I got back!

I just saw a couple of posts today from Squaw Creek Wildlife refuge in NW Missouri. Aren't these photos beautiful? Your words reminded me of them.
