Cold, Cold, Cold

By: EarlB , 12:40 PM GMT on December 24, 2012

The dark sky is
Cold, cold, cold.
Points of light burn so far away;
And only cold separates them.
Yet, each point is a furnace,
Warming small stony spheres
That wander near.

The dark world can be
Cold, cold, cold.
Love can seem so far away,
Separation all too common.
Yet each heart holds a furnace
To warm the cold, the hungry,
Those near in need.

Turn away the
Cold, cold, cold,
Hold out your hand,
Open your heart,
Come into the warmth
Of my waiting arms.
Come home, come home to me.

Linda,

a happy christmas to you! nope, no bread today,
though i thought of that, but it'd take quite the
effort to bake with all the other things going on
(mostly involving presents!). will be driving to
pennsylvania tomorrow for a 2 day visit and then
to delaware on saturday for a 2nd christmas
extravaganza with long time friends, their
children and now THEIR children! it's great being
a grand uncle! ha ha

i'm glad that you liked the poem. it developed
into a favorite of mine, too!

Merry Christmas, Earl! A lovely poem, and so in the spirit of the season. It puts me in mind of your oven - did you bake bread for today?

Best wishes for the New Year, too. It's always a good season for making new memories.
