TV Weathermen Overreact Again - Or Do They?

By: Buckey2745 , 3:06 AM GMT on February 12, 2008

After yesterday's blog the model's changed a couple times, leaning toward more rain during the day on Tuesday. So as I was at work today I continued to check in on how the forecast had changed. Around 1pm today it looked like my area would get around 2-3 inches of snow, then the sleet and rain would move in and wash it all away.

Imagine my suprise when I get home this evening and the local TV weatherman says we're expecting 5-7 inches of snow and little to no rain.

I change the channel and the same story.

So now we wait. It's started with some light snow already and the guys in Wilmington are calling for the heaviest snow to be between 4am-10am.

Could there be thundersnow?
