Doorstep to winter...

By: BostonDan , 6:01 AM GMT on November 05, 2009

Well, tis a bitter pill to swallow, but the NY Yankees are champs again. Not that I have much to complain about as a Boston area sports fan; it has been, and continues to be, a great stretch. Now that baseball season is over, I don't stop loving and watching sports. However, I do spend much more time looking at the weather now that we are approaching real snow season (October 18th was a freak occurrence!).

It looks like in the next 24 hours there is a wee bit of a chance for some wet snowflakes to make an appearance here in Roslindale. But it looks much more likely that rain will be the only precipitation we'll see.

But there is snow on the ground in parts of New England!

Well, sort of, if you include the top of Mount Washington! Link

Hi BostonDan!

Being a New England sports enthusiast myself,
I can relate to the disappointment over the NY
Yankees win. BOOOO - HISSSS! Nevertheless, a
lot of people believe, as do I, that they bought their prize at a large cost. Guess they
didn't get the memo about the recession.

Glad to see that our part of the commonwealth,
near the Salem, NH border, is only gray and chilly without the sign of snow. Not relishing the thought of any nor of ever having another freakish ice storm like last year.

Looking forward to the near 65 degree forecast
for a few days next week and hope it comes to

Have a good day BostonDan and will check back to view your reporting of the NE weather situation real soon.

P.S. You might want to check out or say hello
to NEwxGuy on his blogsite, if you haven't already, since he's from the Boston area like yourself and enjoys kibitzing about local, regional and nationwide weather as well as sports, etc.

No rain, or wet snowflakes. Just a gray November day.
