Tar Balls & Tears #7 Oil & GoM

By: Beachfoxx , 4:57 AM GMT on June 27, 2010

Another Quote of the Day:

'Americans are not addicted to oil, Americans are addicted to freedom - the freedom to move freely and independently where and when we want," - former Virginia governor, George Allen.

Please try to be considerate of everyone's opinions. We all know that we all cannot agree all the time, but we can all be civil when we disagree & respectful for each other's difference of opinion.

Oil disaster quote of the day.
From a skimboarder in Perdido: <“We’re probably going to get cancer or grow an arm out of our face,” said Lane, 17 years old, pointing to small clumps of oil that had washed up on the sand. “It kind of sucks.”

Important read, short and to the point, about air quality vs local water testing.

that's alfabob's post from previous blog. I just love how they call it Organic Sulfonic Acid Salt, instead of Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate.

That's like calling a crazed man-eating zombie a semi-mortem human.

g'morning foxx et al.

Most of the cams are either blank, or all grey. Can't tell wht's going on.

Last night, I watched ALL the bolts get removed. Yeah, I was up way too late. But afterwards, I swear, the ROV backed up, and did an excited twisting/turning/clapping motion with it's little claw/paws.

Now, says the Washington-based Orca Network, her life is again being threatened — not only by oil, but by dispersant being used by BP to break down the oil.

“Any contact (with dispersant) can be fatal,” said Howard Garrett, who has contacted officials with the U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. They have assured him they are well aware of the situation. “I hope they understand the urgency.”

Shep, you're on time with the Slowhand. Love all his music, have a couple of all-times favs belong to him. But, there is that one song, "Tears", I don't listen to - haven't in years. Just can't go there with that one, beautiful but such a sad, sad song.

Just play the music son...just play the music.

abuser (BP) tends to pick on poor, uneducated, voiceless people - economically stressed areas, for example the toxic oil zones in Africa and other 3rd world countries and yes even in own back yard GALVESTON, Louisiana, Mississippi.

**********************************************************************************************
With all due respect...

I'm not sure I'm following you there????

Aren't they simply seeking leases where the oil is along with everybody else?

I would doubt it has anything to do with the IQ or culture of the population on shore.

It's a matter of deposits, not demographics...IMHO
