Hi

Hope you had a great day and you have an even better evening

Undercover Clergy
A minister, a priest and a rabbi went for a hike one day. It was very hot. They were sweating and exhausted when they came upon a small lake. Since it was fairly secluded, they took off all their clothes and jumped in the water.

Feeling refreshed, the trio decided to pick a few berries while enjoying their "freedom." As they were crossing an open area, who should come along but a group of ladies from town. Unable to get to their clothes in time, the minister and the priest covered their privates and the rabbi covered his face while they ran for cover. After the ladies had left and the men got their clothes back on, the minister and the priest asked the rabbi why he covered his face rather than his privates. The rabbi replied, "I don't know about you, but in MY congregation, it's my face they would recognize."

Take care, be safe and be good to yourself

Good Day

Tomorrow many countries will honor their war dead and fallen heros.

Remember:
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

As you enjoy your weekend, please take a minute to remember those who paid a very dear price to protect our our rights and freedoms.

Its raining cat and dogs here. Been a heavy downpour since I woke up at 5:00 this morning.

Two good things about rain - it isn't snow and you don't have to shovel it.

Enjoy your Friday. Hope you have a restful funfilled weekend

Good Morning

During the '50s and earlier '60s there was a radio broadcast called the Dosco News. Because shipping information was so important to Newfoundland, a portion of the show was dedicated to the shipping news. After the shipping reports the announcer would read messages from listeners of the show. They were usually messages from home to the men at sea, but sometimes there were messages like the one below.

The message was supposed to read:
Husband going to sea, would like prayers of listeners.

It was read:
Husband going to sea wife, would like prayers of listeners.

Ya gotta watch those commas.

Have a great Thursday.

Hows ya doin' now

This is a test for Dementia. Hope you do better then I did.

"It's that time of year to take our annual senior citizen test." Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it's important to keep mentally alert. If you don't use it, you lose it! Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence.

There are only 5 questions, so don't get all excited and confused yet. Take the test presented here to determine if you're losing it or not. OK, relax, clear your mind and begin.

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: "bread." If you said "toast," maybe you should give up now and do something else. Try not to hurt yourself. If you said, bread, go to Question 2.

2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk." What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk," maybe you shouldn't even attempt to answer the next question. Your brain is apparently over-stressed and may even overheat.
Content yourself with reading more appropriate literature such as Auto World. However, if you said "water", proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks, and a blue house is made from blue bricks, and a pink house is made from pink bricks, and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said "green bricks," why are you still reading these??? If you said "glass," go on to Question 4.

4. It's twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall , Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany ) Anyway, during the flight, TWO engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before he can do so and the plane fatally crashes smack in the middle of "no man's land" between East Germany and West Germany Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany, West Germany, or no man's land"?

Answer: You don't bury survivors. If you said ANYTHING else, you're in real bad shape and for your own sake you must stop. If you said, "You don't bury survivors", proceed to the next question.

5. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales In London, 17 people get on the bus. In Reading , six people get off the bus and nine people get on. In Swindon , two people get off and four get on. In Cardiff , 11 people get off and 16 people get on. In Swansea , three people get off and five people get on. In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on You then arrive at Milford Haven. What was the name of the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud! Don't you remember your own name? Or have you forgotten it was YOU driving the BUS!!

Have a great day

Hi

We dodged the bullet and will only get heavy winds and rain showers.

So, its Sunday, are you ready for some football???

Blonde Football - Football FINALLY makes sense

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience.

"Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents."

Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?"

"Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!' I'm like.....Hellooooooo? It's only 25 cents!!!!"

Have a great day

Hello from me to you,

First, I would like to thank ya,ll for your e mails and posts expressing your concerns for myself and Debs safety.

If the latest track holds true we should miss the brunt of the storm. The latest forecast for this area is calling for high winds and very little rain. That means if our roof blows off we don't have to worry about the basement flooding.

According to Environment Canada Noel will arrive late tonight. This is good because I get to watch the football and hockey games before possibly losing power.

I will update my blog if there is any change in this outlook.

Hope you have a enjoyable and relaxing day.

Good Morning

According to the local news here's our weather out look for tomorrow.

It's expected to be a post tropical storm by the time it reaches this province Saturday night, but the remnants of Hurricane Noel are still expected to pack a punch. Computer models from the Canadian Hurricane Centre says the storm will track over Nova Scotia, the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Labrador Sea. 50 to 100 mm of rain are expected in western Nova Scotia and eastern New Brunswick, with winds up to 100 km/hr. The Newfoundland and Labrador Weather Centre says the system is expected to affect pretty well all this province, including Labrador. However, they say it's too early to be specific about rainfall amounts and wind speeds.

Right now its very windy, ominous skys and unseasonably warm. Looks like we might be in for a wild weekend.

Have a wonderful grand Friday.

Good Afternoon

A fifteen year-old boy came home with a new Chevrolet Avalanche and his parents began to yell and scream, "Where did you get that truck???" He calmly told them, "I bought it today."

"With what money?" demanded his parents. They knew what a Chevrolet Avalanche cost.

"Well," said the boy, "this one cost me fifteen dollars." So the parents began to yell even louder. "Who would sell a truck like that for fifteen dollars?" they said.

"It was the lady up the street," said the boy. I don't know her name - they just moved in. She saw me ride past on my bike and asked me if I wanted to buy a Chevrolet Avalanche for fifteen dollars."

"Oh my Goodness!" moaned the mother, "she must be a drug addict or some weirdo. Who knows what she will do next? John, you go right up there and see what's going on."

So the boy's father walked up the street to the house where the lady lived and found her out in the yard calmly planting petunias! He introduced himself as the father of the boy to whom she had sold a new Chevrolet Avalanche for fifteen dollars and demanded to know why she did it.

"Well," she said, "this morning I got a phone call from my husband. I thought he was on a coffee break, but learned from a friend he had run off to Hawaii with his mistress and really doesn't intend to come back. He claimed he was stranded and asked me to sell his new Chevrolet Avalanche and send him the money."

"So I did."

Have a great day

Hey BangorWalker!

We're getting our 1st widespread freeze of the season here in Bethel tonight.

NWS is calling for a low of 26 here. It's going to be tough to keep anything alive tonight. I think the only surviving members of the garden will be the collards, chard, and broccoli.

November is looking to bring some early winter according to models thus far. Most of the runs have brought a rather significant trough over the central/eastern part of the country with perhaps someone across the northerntier states seeing some of the white stuff.

Hopefully we dont pay for a nice October in spades during November. Take care, bro.
