Tonight is the first real hard freeze of the season in Austin. Winter was slow coming but now its here. I've had a chill in my bones all day. The kind no amount of clothing gets rid of. And then on top of it all...
The Cedars are having sex.
Now I understand. I'm no prude. When you only get to bust one good nut a year might as well make it a big one. But to you have to kill me in the process?
I noticed a week ago that the pollen sacks on the Cedar trees were quite full. And like the idiot I am all I could think was 'Look! How pretty. All that yellow.'Now almost a full week later I had to take a day off from work and was in bed two full days thinking I had a virus when all I had was Cedar fever.
We may be freezing tonight. But weather in central Texas is constantly changing. It'll be 70 by Sunday and freezing again next week. All this will do is make the Cedars ejaculate a little bit harder. A bit longer. I try not to hate but its hard. My head is pounding, every joint in my body aches (and not just from arthritis) and I've got loose bowls. All that mucus running and collecting. I'm sweating like I'm hot when I'm cold. Cedar fever sucks major!
But enough bitchin' and moanin' about things I can't change. I've done my nasal rinse and taken my pills. Now its time to go outside and water everything in for this freeze. Ah life in glorious central Texas!
