Shaun Tanner

Senior Meteorologist

Shaun Tanner loves the weather and that's why we love Shaun Tanner. Shaun is the Head of Meteorological Operations in charge of managing the weather services for Weather Underground. This includes all syndicated newspaper data, information for the Associated Press, and meteorological information for the website. After earning his B.S. in Meteorology in 2003, Shaun went to work at a ship routing company called Applied Weather Technology where he was a routing analyst. He then moved to an agricultural forecasting company called Weather Advisory Service where he provided weather forecasts to farmers to allow them to know when to plant their crops. In addition to his role at Weather Underground, Shaun is an Instructor of Meteorology at San Jose State University in the Department of Meteorology and Climate Science.

A native of California, Shaun resides in San Jose with his wife and two young kids and is an avid soccer player and fan.
