Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 5:48 AM MDT Apr. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight MDT
tonight...

* timing... periods of snow above 5000 feet with a rain, snow mix
below 5000 feet.

* Total snow... 2 to 6 inches in the lower elevations above 5000
feet including in the Hamilton Dome area and between Ten Sleep
and big trails. 1 to perhaps 2 inches in Thermopolis on grassy
areas. Little or no snow accumulation in Worland.

* Main impact... Highway 120 between Thermopolis and Cody will
deteriorate between the Hot Springs Airport and Meeteetse with
slick and snow covered roads. Northerly winds of 20 to 30 mph
with gusts of 45 mph in combination with bursts of heavier
snow will limit visibility to a few hundred feet in northwest
Hot Springs County. The Highway between Thermopolis and
Worland will be mainly wet.

* Other impacts... additional rock or mudslides could occur in the
Wind River Canyon due to the precipitation. As of 530 am, the
Wind River Canyon was closed.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
and slick roads with limited visibilities. Slow down, and allow
extra time to reach your destination. Check the latest Road
conditions at wyoroad.Info or by dialing 5 1 1.
