Areal Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service in Riverton has extended the

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
central Fremont County in central Wyoming...

* until 915 am MDT Sunday.

* At 842 am MDT, there is no anticipated increases in releases out
of Bull Lake Reservoir. The Wind River at Crowheart is slightly
above the flood stage of 10.0 feet. The Wind River near Kinnear
crested at around 8.3 feet Friday afternoon which is below the
flood stage of 9.0 feet. The Wind River at Riverton crested just
above the flood stage of 9.0 feet early Saturday morning.

* There was minimal increase in snwomelt runoff overnight across the
upper Wind River basin. Snowmelt runoff will continue to be
minimal in the next 24 to 48 hours as there is no great increase
in afternoon temperatures expected at the 9,000 foot elevation.
Only isolated afternoon and evening rain showers are forecasted
over the upper Wind River basin for Saturday and Sunday.

* The Wind River near Crowheart is expected to fluctuate around the
flood stage of 10.0 feet through Sunday morning. The Wind River
near Kinnear is expected to fluctuate near the action stage of 8.0
feet through Sunday. The Wind River at Riverton is forecasted to
fluctuate around 9.2 and 9.4 feet through Sunday afternoon.

* Minor low lying flooding is expected along the Wind River from
near Crowheart to downstream of Riverton near the black bridge
area. The higher flows are not expected to encroach Highway 26
near Morton or Highway 132 near Kinnear.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A flood advisory along the Wind River means flows are elevated with
low lying flooding occurring or is imminent.
