The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has extended
the

* Flood Warning for...
McDowell County in southern West Virginia...
southeastern Mingo County in southern West Virginia...
west central Wyoming County in southern West Virginia...

* until 945 am EDT Monday

* at 331 am EDT, light to moderate rainfall was continuing across
the warned area.

* The gauge at Bradshaw on the Tug Fork River continues to indicate
minor flooding. Residents living along the tug Fork in this area
should continue to monitor the river and be prepared to take
action.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Welch, Gary, War, Northfork, Gilbert creek, Bradshaw, Iaeger,
Keystone, Anawalt, Kimball, Panther, Jolo, Maybeury, Elbert,
Coalwood, Avondale, Cucumber and Jenkinjones.

Additional rainfall amounts of around a half an inch, with isolated
higher amounts are possible in the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 2 PM EDT this
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia,
including the following areas, in southwest Virginia, Buchanan
and Dickenson. In southern West Virginia, McDowell and
Wyoming.

* Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon

* one last wave of heavy rainfall affecting the area overnight
into Monday could lead to additional flash flooding,
particularly along flood prone creeks and streams, and adjacent
low lying areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
