The Flood Warning continues for
the Kickapoo river at Ontario.
* Until Friday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:15 am Thursday the stage was 19.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall... dropping below flood
stage today.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... flooding occurs along the river in the
Ontario area. Water may be over Highway p near bridge 10, and also
over Winchell Valley Road at bridge 8.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
La Crosse County in west central Wisconsin...
southwestern Jackson County in west central Wisconsin...
western and southern Monroe County in west central Wisconsin...

* until 215 PM CDT Thursday

* at 813 am CDT, law enforcement reported numerous roads still
impacted by water and mudslides. Washouts have occurred as well,
especially in southern Monroe County towards Ontario, and in the
town of Shelby in La Crosse County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
La Crosse, Sparta, Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, Bangor, Cashton,
North Bend, Dakota, Cataract, Brice Prairie, French Island,
Franklin, Medary, Portland, Burns, Norwalk and Rockland.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Friday afternoon through
Saturday morning...

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast Iowa, southeast
Minnesota, and Wisconsin, including the following areas, in
northeast Iowa, Allamakee, Clayton, Howard, and Winneshiek. In
southeast Minnesota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted,
Wabasha, and Winona. In Wisconsin, Adams, Buffalo, Crawford,
Grant, Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland,
Trempealeau, and Vernon.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flash flooding, additional Road washouts,
rock and mud slides, and river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
