Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 8:41 PM CDT Jul. 27, 2016 – National Weather Service

... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
1115 PM CDT for Marathon County...

At 841 PM CDT... Doppler radar estimated that 1 to 3 inches of rain had fallen
across the northern half of Marathon County over the last several hours.
Radar also estimated that 3 to 4 inches of rain had fallen in two separate
areas... the first between Stratford... Milan and Athens in the western portion
of the County. The second area was along the Shawano and Marathon County line
between Norrie and Hogarty.

Slow moving thunderstorms will continue to move across Marathon County through
930 PM CDT. The rain should then begin to taper off later this evening.

Some locations that may still experience flooding include... Wausau... Weston...
Rib Mountain... Mosinee... Abbotsford... Spencer... Bevent... Rothschild and Schofield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
