The Flood Warning continues for
the sugar river at Brodhead.
* At 1:15 PM Friday the stage was 5.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 8.4 feet by early
Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday
morning.
* Impact... at 8.0 feet... floodwaters are over Highway T in Rock
County, and there is flooding in sugar River Park in the Avon
bottoms area of Rock County. There is widespread agricultural and
lowland flooding in the Brodhead area.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Pecatonica River at Martintown.
* At 1:30 PM Friday the stage was 12.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and
continue to rise to near 16.7 feet by Monday morning.The river will
fall below flood stage by early Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 16.6 feet... this level is the 50 percent chance flood
meaning there is a 50 percent chance of the river reaching this
level in any given year. Floodwaters are in the back yards of some
homes in Martintown. Floodwaters affect Martintown Road and West
River Road in the Martintown area. Upstream in Browntown,
floodwaters affect Highway mm and west indies Road.

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin,
including the following areas, in south central Wisconsin,
Columbia, Dane, green, Iowa, Lafayette, rock, and Sauk. In
southeast Wisconsin, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee,
Racine, Walworth, and Waukesha.

* Through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flooded roads and intersections, river
flooding, and possible rock and mud slides in hilly terrain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Those outside, including campers and hikers, should avoid low
ground and areas along rivers and streams, where rapid water
rises could occur. Be especially cautious at night, when flash
flooding is difficult to see.

At 531 PM CDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered near Darlington,
moving east at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Darlington, Shullsburg, Somers, Wiota, South Wayne, Browntown,
Gratiot and Woodford.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
