The National Weather Service in Duluth MN has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Iron County in northwestern Wisconsin...
central Ashland County in northwestern Wisconsin...

* until 345 PM CDT Wednesday.

At 330 PM CDT, local officials from Ashland and Iron counties, and
the bad river tribe reported that widespread, but in most cases
relatively minor flooding continued across central and northern
Ashland and Iron counties resultant from heavy rain and snowmelt
Sunday and Monday.

Many secondary and rural roads remain closed, including Miller Road
and River Road, and some water is affecting parts of government Road
near Odanah. Flooding also continues to have State Highway 169
closed northeast of Mellen along the Tyler Forks river. Some
improvement has been noted in parts of Iron County where State
Highway 122 has re-opened. As of this afternoon, current forecasts
indicate that the bad river will crest just shy of causing major
impacts to U.S. Highway 2 around Odanah.

Other minor flooding also continues to affect many other roads
across Iron and Ashland counties that are adjacent to, or cross
drainage channels, small creeks and streams, or are near rivers that
are running high.

By Wednesday morning, high water is expected to be receding in most
areas, leading to a reduction in widespread minor flooding affecting
some roads and low lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mellen, Saxon, Gurney, Upson, bad river reservation, Cedar, franks
field, Birch Hill, Copper Falls State Park, and many secondary and
rural roads surrounding these areas that are low-lying, poorly
drained, or are near streams, creeks, drainage channels and rivers.
