... Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north Idaho and Washington, including the
following counties, in north Idaho, Benewah, Kootenai, Latah,
and Shoshone. In Washington, Adams, Grant, Lincoln, and
Spokane.

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* precipitation amounts of a quarter to half an inch will be
common around Spokane and Coeur D'Alene today. Much of the
precipitation will fall in the form of snow this morning and
early this afternoon within the Metro. South of the Metro... rain
will become the predominant precipitation type by afternoon with
rain amounts of a half inch to an inch over the central Idaho
Panhandle below 3500 feet.

* Look for rises on creeks and small streams. Field flooding
will likely occur as well in areas that typically flood in the
Spring due to poor drainage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The Flood Watch continues for
the Palouse river near Potlatch
* from late tonight to Wednesday evening.
* At 3:16 am Tuesday the stage was 11.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage is 15.00 feet.
* Forecast... flood stage may be reached by after midnight tomorrow.

* at 16.5 feet... water will be up to the back door at the city shop
in Palouse. Water will approach the home on main St near Hayton
Greene Park. Lions Club Park in Palouse will be submerged and water
will be around the playground at the Hayton Greene Park.
* At 15.0 feet... extensive flooding of the low lying areas between
Potlatch, ID and Palouse, WA will occur. Flooding will occur at the
lions club Community Park and Hayton Greene Park in Palouse. South
River Road will likely be flooded where it crosses the Palouse
river at Wellesley Rd. The Potlatch softball and baseball fields
will start to flood.
