... Air quality alert in effect for western Washington from 10 am
this morning to 5 PM PDT Wednesday...

An air quality alert for smoke has been issued by the following
agencies:
Washington state department of ecology,
northwest clean air agency,
olympic region clean air agency,
Puget Sound clean air agency, and
southwest clean air agency.

Unhealthy air will become common across the area due to smoke from
large wildfires in British Columbia and on the east slopes of the North
Washington Cascades. Some improvement in ventilation is expected
late Wednesday.

Children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory illnesses are
most at risk of serious health effects. If you experience respiratory
distress, you should speak with your doctor.

An air quality alert has been issued by the National Weather Service
in Seattle, in cooperation with Washington state department of
ecology and other local agencies. It is in effect from 10 am Sunday
to 5 PM PDT Wednesday.

Unhealthy air will become common across western Washington due to
the large wildfires currently burning in the Washington Cascades and
British Columbia. Some improvement in ventilation is expected late
on Wednesday.

Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes... runny nose... aggravate
heart and lung diseases... and aggravate other serious health
problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it
is smoky. Follow advice from your physician or other medical
services if you have a heart or respiratory condition.
