midnight PDT tonight for abundant lightning and gusty outflow
winds for fire weather zones 610, 639, 640, 641, and 675...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to midnight
PDT tonight. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected area... in Oregon... fire weather zone 610 covering the
eastern slopes of the central Cascades... fire weather zone 640
covering the central mountains... in Oregon and Washington... fire
weather zone 639 covering the east slopes of the northern Oregon
Cascades and southern Washington Cascades... fire weather zone
641 covering the lower Columbia Basin and Blue Mountain
foothills... in Washington... fire weather zone 675 covering the
southern Kittitas Valley, Yakima Valley and Hanford district.

* Timing... from 1 PM this afternoon through midnight.

* Lightning activity... lal's of 3 are expected. Pockets of lal 4
possible in the Blue Mountain foothills.

* Precipitation... these storms will be wet under the rain cores
with some brief heavy rainfall possible. The fringe areas of
storms will see spotty precipitation.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
