Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 7:42 AM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until noon PST
today...

* coastal flooding... minor flooding is possible along the
shorelines during the morning high tide Wednesday.

* Some affected locations... from the Admiralty Inlet area and
Whidbey Island up through the San Juans and the Anacortes
area... north to Bellingham Bay and up to Point Roberts.

* Timing... the morning high tide Wednesday is around 9 to 10 am in
the northern inland waters of western Washington. Water will be
unusually high for an hour or so each side of high tide.

* Tide info... deep low pressure over the area will produce tides
higher than the tide tables. Current anomalies are about 1.5
feet above predictions. The anomalies around the time of high
tide will be 1.5 to 2.0 feet above predictions.

* Impacts... flooding due to minor tidal overflow. Low lying areas
next to the water could get a few inches of tidal overflow this
morning. This includes some roads and parking lots.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that winds and waves at high
tide could combine to generate flooding of low areas along the
shoreline.

High Wind Warning
Issued: 2:34 AM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 3 PM PST this
afternoon...

* wind... 25 to 40 mph with gusts near 60 mph.

* Some affected locations... Bellingham and Oak Harbor.

* Timing... winds have diminished somewhat overnight but are
expected to rise again briefly this morning.

* Impacts... high winds can topple trees onto roads... vehicles...
and rooftops. Downed power lines can cause power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

Gale Warning
Issued: 8:41 AM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Gale Warning now in effect until 3 PM PST this afternoon...

* winds... southeast 25 to 35 kt.

* Waves... wind waves 4 to 6 ft.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occuring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience
and properly equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that
mariners without the proper experience seek safe Harbor prior to
the onset of gale conditions.
