Heat Advisory
Issued: 9:44 AM CDT Jul. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to
7 PM CDT this evening...

* event... very hot and humid conditions are expected this
afternoon, as temperatures rise into the middle and upper 90s.
When combined with the humidity, heat index values could range
from 105 to 109 degrees.

* Timing... these high heat index readings will occur during the
afternoon early evening hours.

* Impact... heat related illnesses may become possible for those
outdoors, especially when out in direct sunlight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected, which may create a situation in which heat-related
illnesses are more likely. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an
air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on
relatives and neighbors.
