Watches & Warnings

Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:42 AM CDT Jun. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until noon CDT
today...

* coastal flooding... primarily for Gulf facing beaches from Port
Aransas south to Baffin Bay.

* Timing... through the morning hours today.

* Impacts... minor tidal overflow will be possible this morning
around the time of high tide and for the remainder of the
morning. Some beach access roads may become flooded and
impassable during times of high tide. High tide at Port Aransas
is at 702 am CDT.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
