Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:59 PM CDT Jun. 20, 2018 – National Weather Service

... The flood advisory remains in effect until 615 PM CDT for eastern
Wharton... southwestern Montgomery... Fort Bend... eastern Waller and
western Harris counties...

At 453 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated locally heavy rain continuing
to move to the north in and around the advisory area. This advisory
area saw heavy rain last night and higher rain rates will cause
water to run off and cause localized street flooding. One to three
inches of rain has already fallen, and an additional 1 to 2 inches
are possible mainly in western Harris County and eastern port Bend
County. Additional advisories to the east of the current advisory
might be needed.

Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Sugar Land, Missouri City, Rosenberg, Stafford, Katy, Richmond,
Tomball, Jersey Village, Prairie View, Bunker Hill Village,
Pinehurst, mission Bend, town west, Pecan Grove, Eldridge / West
Oaks, Spring Branch west, First Colony, Addicks park ten, Spring
Branch north and Fresno.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
