Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:08 PM CDT Jul. 22, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM CDT this evening...

* event... late afternoon and early evening temperatures today
will remain in the upper 90s to lower 100s resulting in maximum
heat indices of 105 to 110 degrees across the advisory area.

* Timing... through early this evening.

* Impact... heat related illnesses will be possible for those
involved in outdoor activities and home bound persons without
air-conditioning or well-circulated air.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of very hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of hydrating fluids, keep cool in adequate
air-conditioning, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives
and neighbors.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose-fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
