Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:02 AM EDT Jun. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania...
northwestern Montgomery County in southeastern Pennsylvania...
western Lehigh County in eastern Pennsylvania...
south central Carbon County in northeastern Pennsylvania...

* until 800 am EDT

* at 401 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
reading, Lehighton, Wyomissing, Palmerton, Birdsboro, Kutztown, Jim
Thorpe, Hamburg, Slatington, Fleetwood, Sinking Spring, Laureldale,
East Greenville, Womelsdorf, Wernersville, Newmanstown, Walnutport,
Topton, Leesport and Shoemakersville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
