The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* flood advisory for...
north Central Adams County in southwestern Ohio...
Pike County in southwestern Ohio...
Highland County in southwestern Ohio...
southern Ross County in southwestern Ohio...

* until 330 PM EDT.

* At 127 PM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain
moving slowly across the warned area. These storms will produce 1
to 2 inches of rain in an hour or less.

* Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways
and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks,
streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.

Some locations that will experience minor flooding include...
Hillsboro, Waverly, Piketon, Lynchburg, Marshall, Bainbridge, Pike
Lake, Kincaid Springs, Belfast, Rocky Fork Point, Highland Holiday,
Cynthiana, Russell, New Market, Beaver, Mowrystown, Sinking Spring,
Pike County Airport, Danville in Highland County and Omega.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Heat Advisory
Issued: 10:36 AM EDT Jul. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening...

* heat index values... around 100 degrees due to temperatures in
the lower 90s and dewpoints in the low to mid 70s.

* Timing... through early this evening.

* Impacts... heat stroke, heat exhaustion and other heat related
illnesses will be possible, especially if you spend a
significant amount of time outdoors, or are involved in any
strenuous outdoor activity. The cumulative impacts of heat on
the human body can be significant when consecutive days of
excessive heat occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Reduce outdoor activities, especially from mid-morning through
the afternoon. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing and
drink plenty of water. If possible, spend more time in air
conditioned or well ventilated places.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency, call 911.
