... Lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST
Saturday...

* locations... southern Cayuga... Onondaga... Madison... Cortland...
Chenango and Otsego counties.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches, with much of
the snowfall occurring Friday and Friday night. The higher
terrain in southern Onondaga and southern Madison counties will
see the most snowfall.

* Timing... more intense snow showers are expected to begin later
tonight with the more persistent and heavier lake effect snow
bands developing in the region during the day Friday. Intense
snow should taper off on Saturday.

* Impacts... the heavy snow will create snow covered roads and
produce scattered power outages.

* Winds... northwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Temperatures... in the lower 20s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake-effect snow is forecast
that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake-effect snow
showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be
intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use
caution when traveling.
