... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...
... Winter Storm Warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... sleet and freezing rain... which is in
effect until 7 PM EST this evening. The Winter Storm Warning has
been cancelled.

* Locations... Wayne... Livingston... Ontario and Allegany counties.

* Timing... through early this evening.

* Hazards... snow mixed with some sleet and freezing rain early
this morning.

* Accumulations... an additional 2 to 3 inches of snow and a trace
of ice.

* Winds... north 5 to 15 mph.

* Visibilities... as low as a half mile at times.

* Temperatures... around 30 through 6 am. Highs in the lower 30s
today. Around 30 tonight.

* Impacts... wet snow... sleet and patchy freezing rain will result
in slushy and slick travel conditions. Allow extra time for the
morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory is normally issued for a variety of
winter weather conditions such as light snow, blowing snow, sleet,
freezing rain and wind chills. While the weather will be
significant, the word advisory implies that severe winter weather
is not anticipated.

* winds... north 15 to 20 knots.

* Waves... 3 to 6 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 18 to 33 knots
and/or waves averaging 4 feet or more are expected to produce
hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced
mariners... especially those operating smaller vessels... should
avoid navigating in these conditions.
