... Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST
Wednesday...

* locations... Mid Hudson valley... eastern Catskills and
helderbergs... Mohawk Valley... capital region... and Taconics.

* Hazard types... freezing rain... possibly mixed with some snow
or sleet at times.

* Ice accumulations... ice accretion of a trace to up to one tenth
of an inch in the valleys... and one tenth to one quarter of an
inch across higher elevations.

* Timing... light freezing rain or snow early this afternoon will
become steadier precipitation in the mid to late afternoon into
tonight. Most of this precipitation will be in the form of
freezing rain across higher elevations... and rain occasionally
mixed with freezing rain in valleys. Some sleet or snow may mix
in at times during the night as well. Precipitation looks to
taper off toward daybreak Wednesday.

* Impacts... ice covered roadways will make for hazardous travel.
Untreated walkways... driveways and sidewalks will be very
slippery. Some isolated to scattered power outages are
possible in areas that receive the most significant freezing
rain. Light icing may still occur even after temperatures rise
above freezing.

* Winds... southeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... in the mid 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
