Issued: 2:48 PM EDT Mar. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 am to 11 am EDT
Friday...

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for a light wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet,
which is in effect from 5 am to 11 am EDT Friday.

* Hazard types... freezing rain and sleet.

* Accumulations... ice accumulations of a tenth of an inch or less.

* Timing... the wintry mix will affect the region late tonight
through mid morning Friday. The morning commute could be
adversely affected.

* Impacts... hazardous travel on untreated roads. Remember, bridges
tend to ice over first.

* Temperatures... starting out in the mid to upper 20s and slowly
rising to above freezing by mid to late morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
