Winter Weather Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Burlington continues the Winter
Weather Advisory for mixed precipitation... until 10 PM EST this
evening.

* Locations... northern New York and all of central... eastern...
and northern Vermont... including the Champlain Valley and
Northeast Kingdom.

* Hazard types... snow... sleet... and freezing rain.

* Accumulations... additional accumulations of up to 1 inch of
heavy dense snow... along with around a tenth of an inch of ice.

* Timing... precipitation has mainly changed to snow this morning
with pockets of freezing drizzle and sleet mixed in. As
precipitation tapers off by mid-day, areas of freezing drizzle
are likely, with another period of heavier wintry mix likely
this evening.

* Impacts... ice and snow accumulations will create treacherous
driving conditions. The weight of the ice and snow on tree
limbs and power lines could produce numerous outages.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Temperatures... highs around 30. Lows in the upper 20s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that period of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
