Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:39 PM MST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 am MST
Tuesday...

* snow accumulations... 2 to 5 inches at elevations near or below
7500 feet with 5 to 10 inches possible over the higher terrain.

* Timing... precipitation will become all snow and increase in
coverage and intensity as a cold front crosses this evening.
Snow should taper off early Tuesday morning.

* Winds... west 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph after sunset.

* Snow levels... snow levels will lower quickly with the passage
of a cold front early this evening.

* Local impacts... roads may become snowpacked and icy... such as
Highway 550 and Interstate 40 over the Continental Divide.
Areas of reduced visibilities in blowing snow will add to the
hazardous travel conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be restricted due to a combination of falling
and blowing snow.
