Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 6:08 PM MDT Jul. 28, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* until 800 PM MDT

* at 604 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and Small Stream flooding
along the west slopes of the Manzano Mountains towards State Road
47 from The Meadow lake area south over Forest Road 33. The
storms producing the heavy rain have been weakening as they move
to the south.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous
flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to
drive through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles
and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
