Issued: 3:34 AM MDT Mar. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this
evening...

* location... portions of the Central Mountain chain, adjacent
eastern Highlands and plains of New Mexico.

* Winds... westerly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
will turn north northwesterly through the morning hours with a
rapid resurgence in speed. By late morning and through much of
the afternoon sustained speeds of 35 to 50 mph with gusts of 60
to 75 mph are expected.

* Timing... steady strong winds this morning will shift direction
and increase in speed before noon. Winds will remain strong to
severe through the late afternoon and will decrease in speed
around dusk.

* Visibility... dropping to 1 to 3 miles at times in dust prone
locations such as recently plowed agricultural fields.

* Local impacts... unsecured objects may become airborne and power
lines may topple over. Power outages will be possible. Cross
winds will be dangerous, especially for high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remember, a High Wind Warning means damaging winds are imminent
or highly likely. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or
gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
