Watches & Warnings

Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:39 AM EDT Apr. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to midnight EDT tonight...

* location... coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware and areas
along Delaware Bay.

* Coastal flooding... widespread minor flooding around the time
of high tide this evening. Localized moderate flooding is
possible.

* Timing... high tide on the New Jersey and Delaware oceanfront
occurs between 7:15 PM and 8:15 PM this evening. High tide on
the back bays, along Delaware Bay and along Raritan Bay occurs
later than the high tide on the oceanfront.

* Surge... around 1.0 to 1.5 feet above astronomical tide.

* Waves... 7 to 10 feet on the ocean waters off New Jersey and
Delaware and 2 to 5 feet in the Delaware Bay.

* Impacts... localized roadway flooding is expected. Some Road
closures due to high water are likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some Road
closures. Usually... the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged... leading to
costly repairs.
