... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 8 am Friday to 4 PM EDT
Saturday...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 8 am Friday to 4
PM EDT Saturday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Hazard types... heavy snow possibly mixing with sleet at times.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches... with
locally higher amounts possible.

* Timing... snow will begin early Friday morning across
southwestern New Hampshire then move northeastward, covering the
rest of the warning area by mid to late morning. The snow may
not accumulate on roads at lower elevations until later
afternoon or evening. The snow will increase in intensity Friday
evening and overnight before ending around midday Saturday.

* Impacts... slippery roads and low visibilities. The snow will be
heavy and wet, especially across southern New Hampshire where
the potential for power outages will exist.

* Winds... east 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... around 30.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
