Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 3:04 PM CDT Mar. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River at Omaha.
* At 2:45 PM Tuesday the stage was 33.6 feet... or 4.6 feet above
flood stage.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Friday before midnight.
* Impact... at 32.0 feet... Interstate 680 west between the Mormon
bridge and Interstate 29 begins to flood. Also, Interstate 29
between Crescent and Council Bluffs begins to flood.

* At 1051 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated rain across a large part
of southeast Nebraska and this will also move into southwest Iowa.
There is potential for one quarter to three quarters of an inch of
rain today across the Flood Warning area. This is in addition to
the river flooding. The water is falling on ground that is
saturated in most areas.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Lincoln, Beatrice, Falls City, Nebraska City, Seward, Crete,
Plattsmouth, Red Oak, Clarinda, Glenwood, Shenandoah, Wahoo,
Gretna, Fairbury, Auburn, Waverly, David City, Ashland, Milford and
Syracuse.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
Do not drive into flooded areas.

the Platte River near Louisville.
* At 8:15 PM Monday the stage was 9.4 feet... or 0.4 feet above flood
stage.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
early tomorrow.
* Impact... at 9.0 feet... the bike path at Highway 50 along the river
begins to flood. Also, lowland flooding starts along both of the
banks.

onto farmlands on both sides of the gage.

* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to continue to run high through
Wednesday, mostly below flood stage.
* Impact... at 9.0 feet... the bike path at Highway 50 along the river
begins to flood. Also, lowland flooding starts along both of the
banks.
