... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect
Alleghany... Watauga... Ashe counties in northwestern North Carolina
and southern Grayson counties in southwestern Virginia through 1215
PM EDT...

At 1113 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Grayson Highlands State Park to
Jefferson, to near Mountain City, TN. Movement was east at 40 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms. Very heavy
rainfall and frequent lightning can be expected with this activity.

and West Jefferson.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
