... Wind Advisory in effect until 6 am EDT Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued
a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 6 am EDT Saturday.

* Locations... the central mountains in North Carolina.

* Hazards... strong winds.

* Timing... gusty winds will peak during the afternoon hours,
before gradually weakening overnight tonight.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Relative humidity values will fall to the mid to upper 20s
percent this afternoon, and west winds will gust to around 25 mph.
This combination along with low fuel moisture values will result
in an enhanced fire danger this afternoon and evening.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since
fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
