... Light snow this morning across higher elevations of the North
Carolina mountains...

A brief period of light snow... possibly mixed with sleet... will
affect portions of the northern North Carolina mountains this
morning... generally affecting elevations at or above 3500 feet.
Locations such as Beech Mountain... Grandfather Mountain... and
Mount Mitchell may see a coating of snow. Temperatures hovering
around freezing may lead to some slick spots on roads... especially
bridges and overpasses. Take extra precautions if traveling this
morning. Snow will change over to all rain and any accumulations
will melt likely by mid-morning... and no later than noon.
